An initiative to better the moving experience for foster kids in three simple steps.
Most of the time, foster kids don't have any sort of luggage, bag, or backpack, and they get 10 minutes and a trash bag to pack up their whole lives. This is why Pack with Love collects bags, conditions them, and gives them to the kids' dispositions to make their trips between homes more pleasant.

The situation
In the United States, more than 700 kids enter the foster care system each day. The foster care system is a situation in which a for a period of time, a child lives with and is taken care of by people who are not the child's biological parents. This implies that they need to move around quite often. The majority of these kids don't have something to carry their belongings in, so they are given a black trash bag to move out with. Children are not trash! Pack with Love helps bring bags, suitcases, and backpacks to these kids to help them move more comfortably.

We feel much empathy for these kids; with the Pack with Love initiative, we have begun a campaign to collect any sort of backpack, pencil case, purse, duffle bag, and luggage to put them in donatable condition and place it for donation to better the experience of moving around. You can help. Each bag makes a difference!

Collaboration is so easy! The only thing you need to do is separate the bags that you no longer use and text us or email us to take them off your hands. Don't throw away or keep the bags you no longer use stashed in the back of your closet; help out the foster care children of Miami and donate them. It's surprising how many bags are not used and stashed away in each family, kept away in disuse, not knowing that it could make all the difference. Donating your bags does not only make space in your closet; it helps the kids. Donating old backpacks that the kids no longer use or the bags that are no longer in style can make all the difference; 9/10 foster kids will receive a trash bag when moving from home to home. It helps these kids out and makes their transition more pleasant.

It is surprising how many disused bags a family can have, not knowing that they could give them a new life and help others. By donating these items, you not only put an organization in your closet, but you can also help others in two ways: you give your bags, and you create work for those who put them in a better condition.
About Kayla
Kayla is a 17-year-old student finding her way through high school. During the past few years, she's been participating in community service ranging from beach cleanups to soup kitchens. While doing community service, she began to learn about the situation kids in the system were in.
She'd been thinking about how she could help her community for a while, and when she won $750* in a drawing contest, she realized that this was her moment. She wrote the base plan for Pack with Love, and finally, after months of hard work, she used her $750 to start up the Pack with Love organization. This initiative needs your help.
